Laylatul Qadr is a night in Ramadan that is better than 1,000 months. It is the night when the Quran was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

This night falls in the last ten nights of Ramadan, mostly believed to be on one of the odd-numbered nights (21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th, or 29th).

Muslims spend this night in worship, dua, and reflection, hoping to gain the mercy and blessings of Allah (SWT).

The Surah Al-Qadr (Chapter 97) says:

Arabic:
إِنَّا أَنْزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ
وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ
لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ
تَنَزَّلُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَالرُّوحُ فِيهَا
بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِمْ مِنْ كُلِّ أَمْرٍ
سَلَامٌ هِيَ حَتَّىٰ مَطْلَعِ الْفَجْرِ

Translation:
“Indeed, We sent the Qur’an down during the Night of Decree.
And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree?
The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.
The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter.
Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.”

  Surah Al-Qadr (97:1-5)

In 2026, Laylatul Qadr is expected to fall on the night of Friday, April 10th, corresponding with the 27th night of Ramadan, in many countries.

🕋 However, it’s best to seek Laylatul Qadr during all the last ten odd nights of Ramadan, just as the Prophet (SAW) advised.

The most beloved dua for Laylatul Qadr is the one taught by the Prophet Muhammad (SAW):

Arabic:
اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي

Transliteration:
Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuḥibbul-‘afwa fa‘fu ‘annī

Translation:
“O Allah, You are Forgiving and love forgiveness, so forgive me.”

📿 Recite this often throughout the night with sincerity.

Arabic:
رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ

Transliteration:
Rabbana ẓalamna anfusana wa illam taghfir lana wa tarḥamna lanakunanna minal-khasireen.

Translation:
“Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves. If You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will be among the losers.”

  Surah Al-A’raf (7:23)

Arabic:
اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِيهمْ بِمَا شِئْتَ

Transliteration:
Allahumma ikfinihim bima shi’ta

Translation:
“O Allah, protect me from them in any way You will.”

Say this dua when asking for safety from those who harm or oppress.

Arabic:
رَبِّ إِنِّي لِمَا أَنزَلْتَ إِلَيَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَقِيرٌ

Transliteration:
Rabbi inni lima anzalta ilayya min khayrin faqeer.

Translation:
“My Lord, indeed I am in need of whatever good You would send down to me.”

  Surah Al-Qasas (28:24)

This is a powerful dua for sustenance, career success, and general well-being.

Arabic:
اللَّهُمَّ أَصْلِحْ أَحْوَالَ أُمَّةِ مُحَمَّدٍ

Transliteration:
Allahumma aslih ahwala ummati Muhammad

Translation:
“O Allah, improve the condition of the nation of Muhammad.”

Pray this with a heart full of love for the entire Muslim community.

Arabic:
اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي بَدَنِي، اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي سَمْعِي، اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي بَصَرِي

Transliteration:
Allahumma ‘aafini fi badani, Allahumma ‘aafini fi sam’i, Allahumma ‘aafini fi basari

Translation:
“O Allah, grant health to my body, my hearing, and my sight.”

A beautiful and easy dua for physical and mental health.

✨ “Whoever stands (in prayer) during Laylatul Qadr out of faith and seeking reward, his past sins will be forgiven.”
  Sahih Bukhari & Sahih Muslim

🌟 “Seek Laylatul Qadr in the last ten nights of Ramadan.”
  Sahih Bukhari

💫 “It is peace until the appearance of dawn.”
  Quran (97:5)
